Quiet Pond is the pond fishing game scene of Pond Cast, a free online fishing game that runs in your browser. You stand on a sunny wooden dock among lily pads and reeds, cast out over the water and wait for a bite. Nothing to download, no account needed.
What the pond looks like
The pond is a calm, shallow-water scene with lily pads, reeds, flowers and a dock with a lantern, a bucket, crates, tackle and rope. Dragonflies, gulls and fireflies drift around, and the light slowly shifts between day and a warmer sunset tone. It is the scene we suggest for a first session.
How a catch works in the pond
- Charge and cast. Hold the mouse button, your finger or Space to charge, then release to throw. Move left or right to aim.
- Wait for the bite. When the bobber dips, click, tap or press Space to hook the fish. Miss the short window and it gets away.
- Reel against the tension. Hold to reel, release to let line out. Too much tension snaps the line; too little for too long lets the fish escape.
- Keep or release. New species go into your field guide. The creel holds 8 fish.
Cast distance matters: small fish bite near the dock, while the bigger pond species only turn up on longer casts.
